At 20:30 hours local time on Saturday March 25th, 2017, towns and cities all around the world will turn off their lights for one hour sending a powerful global message about environmental awareness and caring for the planet. Le Méridien and Starwood hotels are participating in the marking of 2017 Earth Hour through the activities mentioned below.
As global climate change continues to emerge as one of the greatest challenges for modern society, it has become clear that the way we view our business needs to change, in addition to our new “green” ways of thinking becoming more of a priority.
Key to this change is the reduction of CO2 emissions worldwide and, like all businesses; Starwood has a crucial role to play as a major owner and operator of hotels around the world. Our customers are increasingly focused on environmental concerns and so public confirmation of Le Méridien Angkor’s commitment through events such as Earth Hour is important both to our customer base and
The hotel will therefore be turning off all non-essential lighting from 20:30 – 21:30 hours. Candles will be used throughout our restaurants and in the lobby during this period. We will, of course, provide lighting wherever we need to with a view to essential safety.
We would like to invite you to participate during Earth Hour by turning off the lights and
air-conditioning in your room if you so wish. This is, of course, completely at your discretion. During Earth Hour i.e. between 20:30 – 21:30 hours, the hotel will host a traditional Cocktail and Parisian Pastry hour at the Elephant Courtyard.
AGENDA (19:00 – 21:30 Hours) – ELEPHANT COURTYARD
19:00 hours onwards – International Buffet Dinner
20:30 hours – The hotel will begin turning down all lights in the lobby and public areas for an hour and candle dance to be started and follow by blessing dance end up by Apsara dance.
20:30 hours: The hotel will host a traditional Cocktail and Parisian Pastry hour
